Sorry for this being on its side. I can't figure out how to slip the picture around. Anyway, here was one of the selections off the menu. A Philly Cheesesteak! Jim said he didn't even want to try it!
Here is a shot of the place we ate. It was eclectic but fun! I liked it!
These next shots are at the Jamestown Settlement. This place isn't actually the real Jamestown. It is a replication of it. The real Jamestown settlement is about a half mile up the road. This picture is of an Indian hut. During the tour we all filed in and sat on deer skins that area hunters donate to the settlement. I don't usually mind seeing animal skins and feeling them but these skins still had the heads attached! Ewww! For some reason that grossed me out! There were deer, wolves, foxes, raccoons, skunks, ect.
This is the replication of the church at Jamestown. The settlers were required to attend mass twice a day as well as work for six hours. Pocahontas and John Rolfe were married in the church. Pocahontas was married under her Christian name Rebecca.
Here are replications of the ships the settlers arrived on. They arrived on three ships, but I can't remember the names of two of them!! The one at the top of the picture is the Godspeed. That ship actually sails for most of the summer. I believe the biggest ship, which isn't pictured, was sent to England to make the same voyage the settlers made all those years ago!
