I know I haven't been writing much. I have so much to write about so this is going to be a long post!
School ended June 6th. That night Jim and I went to a party for his company at DelFresco's Steak House in Center City. It was the 25th anniversary of the company. They hosted a very nice dinner for us. I think Jim said he found out the open bar bill was like $15,000!!! We had a nice dinner. The guys Jim work with are nice and so are their wives. At the end of the night we all received a bottle of wine and two tumblers from TIFFANY'S!!! These people Jim work for are super generous!
The next weekend Jim and I went to Cape May for the weekend. I found out that Cape May Court House and Cape May are two different places. We actually stayed in the Court House. It is about a 20 minute drive to Cape May. We stayed at the Doctor's Inn Bed and Breakfast. I am not going to lie. I was a little creeped out at first. It was decorated old and dark. It was a nice place though. We had a nice time that weekend. We went to the Cape May zoo for the day. That is an awesome zoo. Another day we went to visit a friend of mine from Norwood, Sr. Roseanne. She works at the nun's shore house all summer. It turns out that there was another nun there that I know. Julie helped out with Hubert's swim team while I swam. We had a nice chat with them and then we drove over to Sunset Beach. We climbed a lookout tower and sat on the beach for a little bit. There were some WWII vets sitting in the tower so we talked to them for a bit too. We also spent some time in Stone Harbor. There was really only one block with shops and things to do but that was a nice little block. We went min golfing, ate ice cream, and walked into all the shops. It was a very nice weekend!
My friend Amy got married on June 20th. She is my oldest friend. I have known her since first grade! All of our friends from camp went. It was nice seeing Jackie, Emily, and Katie. We don't get to see them that often. The wedding itself was beautiful. Amy looked amazing! She was never really girly in the sense of make-up, tanning, hair done, ect. She did all those things and more for the wedding! She looked awesome! We had a nice time at the reception too. It was so much fun.
June 21st was our first anniversary and father's day so we had our families over for a BBQ. It was a nice day. We got to use our new outdoor furniture. It took us four different Targets and one return to get what we wanted. Jim's parents got us a beautiful portrait of one of our wedding pictures. My parents got us a great vase and some gift cards. After dinner we cut the top of our wedding cake and watched our wedding video. We had a nice time.
On June 26th we left for a trip to Jamaica. We went with Lauren, Matt, Ray, Julie, Tom, and Matt Huggins. We stayed at the Breezes in Runaway Bay. We had such a great time. When you go to places like this going to all inclusive is the way to go! All drinks and meals were already paid for. We didn't have to worry about tipping. They had a buffet area for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also had three restaurants that you could go to. We went to the Italian place once, the outdoor stir fry grill once, and the Hibachi grill twice. The Hibachi grill was so much fun! A few of us went on some extra excursions so that cost a little extra. One day we went to Dunn's River Falls. For that trip we start at the bottom of the falls and walk up the falls to the top. Me, Jim, Julie, Tom, Matt Huggins, and Ray went on that trip. The next day Jim, me, Julie, Tom, and Ray all went zip lining and tubing. We had a great time. The only thing was the death ride up to the top of the hill where the rides were. Julie actually ended up getting sick from the ride. It was TERRIBLE. Once we got off the truck and on firm ground I think we all felt better. On the resort they had activities directors. Those guys were great at their job and getting people involved in the activities. A lot of times they tricked you into playing! Like I said... they were good. The last day we were there we did trapeze lessons. It was so much fun! I went twice. The second time it hurt a bit more and was a little harder to pull myself up but I did it!
Well that is about all that happened in June. I will try to keep up better!!
